Mrs. Alice Gasuza Namugamba, a seasoned Public Health Specialist and Researcher, currently serving as the Senior Program Manager of the Research & Data Program at The Online Safety Foundation Uganda. With a Master of Public Health from Makerere University School of Public Health and a BSc in Population Statistics from Makerere University, Mrs. Namugamba brings a wealth of expertise to the realm of online safety research and advocacy.
In her role, Mrs. Namugamba leads pioneering research initiatives aimed at understanding and addressing the multifaceted challenges of online safety for children and young people. With a keen focus on leveraging digital technologies for positive outcomes, she collaborates with diverse stakeholders to generate evidence-based data crucial for informing policy decisions and advocacy efforts in the digital safety domain.
Mrs. Namugamba’s professional journey includes notable positions such as Project Coordinator for the PMTCT Depression study at Makerere University School of Public Health, where she oversees implementation activities aimed at enhancing maternal and child health outcomes. Previously, she served as a Research Coordinator for USAID/SMA project at UHMG, advocating for improved maternal and child health services and HIV prevention.
Her research interests span HIV, Maternal, Adolescent, and Child health, gender- based violence, and mental health, reflecting her commitment to addressing pressing public health issues. Mrs. Namugamba is recognized for her exceptional analytical skills, scientific writing prowess, and proficiency in public speaking. She actively contributes to scientific discourse as a reviewer in reputable journals and as a facilitator/judge/moderator at health scientific conferences.
In recognition of her contributions, Mrs. Alice Gasuza Namugamba was awarded the best presenter at the Joint Annual Scientific and Health Conference, Uganda in 2016, and presented two papers at a Global TEPHINET Conference in Thailand in
2017.
